Ohori Park is a large park in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, where you can enjoy not only visiting cultural, historical and artistic spots, but also a place to relax and enjoy yourself. The park features a large lake in the middle of the park, and there is a 2km walkway that surrounds the lake, which is perfect for walking, exercising, and taking your dog for a walk.

It takes 5 minutes from Tenjin Station to Ohori Koen Station by subway, and 12 minutes from Hakata Station. It’s a 5-minute walk from the station to the park.

In spring, this is a cherry blossom viewing spot that really makes you forget the way back. I went here twice to see the cherry blossoms. Each time I went, I took hundreds of pictures. This place is very beautiful not only in the daytime, but also at night. The colorful lights shine directly on the cherry blossoms and the lighting effect makes them very sparkling

Autumn in Japan is known as the season of red leaves, and if you come here in mid to late November, you can soak up the yellow and red scenery. The photos are pretty enough without any processing, and you won’t need to modify them in Photoshop.

I have been to Ohori Park more times than I can count. Every time I take a walk here, I feel relaxed and happy. You can play with the adorable pigeons, tour the Japanese garden, or visit the Fukuoka City Museum of Art to see the amazing collection of sculptures. You can sit by the lake and chat with friends or have a coffee at Starbucks in the park.

Whenever my friends from other parts of the country come to visit, I always take them to Ohori Park and take lots of beautiful pictures of it. There is also a children’s playground and a bridge that leads to an island in the middle of the lake. Admission is free and it’s a fun place for many people, not just the elderly, but young people and couples.
